Immersive Learning Panel Discussion
This panel discussion reviews the Acute Care Skills Lab Enterprise in use by the School of Nursing at Purdue University Global that was developed by inciteVR for Nurse Practitioner (NP) learners to practice and demonstrate clinical skills competencies “anytime, anywhere”. Achieving accuracy and diversity of clinical experiences in immersive learning for Nurse Practitioners is a primary objective of the Acute Care Skills Labs. Led by Dr. Melissa Burdi, VP, School of Nursing, Purdue University Global, the panel discusses how NP Learners use their own Oculus Quest mobile VR to access the Cloud-based immersive learning experiences to acquire skills more rapidly, with greater accuracy, and retain learned skills longer when compared with 'traditional delivery' - with a range of benefits range of benefits such as no travel requirement, the availability of practice is nearly unlimited, how the enterprise provides learners, faculty, and staff with analytics of learning outcomes that provides insight for every aspect of clinical skills labs, learner performance, and learner and class skills gaps. Additional panel topics include the collaborative design and development process used, best practices for deployment and support, and surprises along the way.
